Cardiac Nursing Careers at Bronson

Come join the growing cardiac program at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Cardiac nurses at Bronson practice in a facility with all-private rooms and a design that incorporates the latest technology with a healing environment.

The cardiac program at Bronson incorporates the most current capabilities both in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery. The are newly designed and include digital archiving systems as well as geographical proximity to both the Trauma & Emergency Center and the Cardiac Surgery suites.

The cardiac surgery program includes traditional CABG surgery, valve replacement and repair, and a strong emphasis on Off Pump CABG (OPCAB). The Cardiac Surgery Unit is directly adjacent to the cardiac operating rooms to minimize patient transport time.

Our Cardiology Unit includes a total of 49 beds that includes Medical/Cardiac Intensive Care beds, telemetry beds and eight swing rooms that can be used as either a critical care bed or a telemetry bed. Nurse Educators and a Clinical Nurse Specialist support professional nursing practice 24 hours per day. These individuals collaborate with cardiac nursing staff and management to develop and implement programs to enhance professional nursing within the cardiac specialty. These opportunities include:

  • Individualized orientation based on nursing experience
  • Critical-Care Nursing Internship based on AACN Core Curriculum to prepare nurses to practice in the critical care environment
  • Cardiology Nurse Fellowship which is an individualized program featuring didactic, learning lab and clinical experiences. In addition to the unit-based experiences of most orientation programs, Bronson’s program will also contain focused learning experiences in a structured learning lab environment. Time will be spent in diagnostic areas such as the echo lab and nuclear medicine lab. Observation time will be spent in the cardiac catheterization lab, cardiac surgery and the Cardiac Surgery Unit. The fellowship also incorporates experiences in home care and cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Mentorship program with experienced staff assisting new staff on an ongoing basis with clinical development and assimilation into a new work environment.

In addition to the nursing and support staff positions involved with the care of cardiac patients, Case Managers and a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Liaison assist with patient progress toward discharge and plan for post discharge care with the patient and family. Bronson Home Health Care provides specialized care and education to our cardiac patients as they are discharged. Bronson also offers a comprehensive outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program located at the Bronson Lifestyle Improvement & Research Center.

For an exciting opportunity to learn and grow, come join us at Bronson where our Commitment to Patient Care Excellence is:
