The purpose of Bronson's Nursing Professional Advancement Ladder (NPAL) is recognition of staff nurses for professionalism in their nursing practice. The NPAL encompasses the elements of the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and provides a mechanism for professional practice and advancement while remaining at the bedside.

This is a compensated ladder with funds dedicated to enhancing professional growth and development by providing additional support for education, certification, national conference attendance and professional organization participation.
