January 28, 2013
Bronson LakeView Hospital has received the Michigan Center for Rural Health’s 2012 Spirit of Quality Award.
This is the fourth year the Michigan Center for Rural Health has offered the quality award. Bronson LakeView Hospital has made significant and sustained improvement in patient safety and quality improvement in environmental safety/security, hand washing and time from emergency department admission to acute care unit.
“Award recipients are committed to providing their patients with high quality health care,” said John Barnas, Executive Director of the Michigan Center for Rural Health. “The Michigan Center for Rural Health is pleased to sponsor this award which recognizes the dedication of hospital staff to provide the right care to the right patient each and every time.”
“Having our performance rated so highly by the Michigan Center for Rural Health helps area residents know that they can choose Bronson LakeView with confidence,” said Sally Berglin, CEO of Bronson LakeView Hospital. “Our staff’s commitment to excellence clearly shines through the data and shows that we are a healthcare destination that is working very hard to deliver exceptional patient care.”
Bronson LakeView Hospital's multidisciplinary team embraced meaningful changes which benefit the organization as a whole, focus on issues that are central to the organization’s functioning, service delivery, and/or quality of services in order to review their current processes and create interventions that improved environmental safety/security, hand washing and time from emergency department admission to acute care unit. The quality improvement projects demonstrated that the changes/improvements were generalized to the entire organization.
Bronson LakeView Hospital was honored by The Michigan Center for Rural Health at an awards ceremony during the 13th Annual Michigan Critical Access Hospital Conference on November 8, 2012, in Boyne Falls, Michigan. The Michigan Center for Rural Health is a non-profit organization formed in 1991 as part of a nation-wide, federal and state initiative to recognize the importance of rural health care and to create a mechanism for resources to flow to rural areas.
