Bronson's Neurodiagnostic facility is a full service laboratory providing state of the art diagnostic equipment and techniques for the investigation of neurologic problems.

The types of problems commonly referred to the laboratory include:

Nerve disorders: such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, nerve compression (pinched nerve) in the neck or back, and generalized problems of numbness, weakness tingling, or pain (such as neuropathy) that can be seen in diabetes for example.
Muscle disease: usually associated with weakness, sometimes wasting, and cramping of muscles. An example of this is Polymyositis. Some muscle diseases are inherited, just as some nerve diseases can be inherited.
Brain and Spinal Cord disorders: this area includes a wide range of disorders such as seizures, changes in mental status, multiple sclerosis, tumors and trauma.

Specialized testing is also available in the Autonomic section of the laboratory for problems such as dizziness and fainting, certain types of sexual dysfunction, abnormal bowel and bladder function, and sweating abnormalities.

Selection of the right tests is important to achieving good results, and the Neurodiagnostic laboratory lists various studies that can be used either individually or in combination with other tests to help solve neurological problems. Neurological consultation is available to your physician when needed for selection or interpretation of tests.

The goal of the Neurodiagnostic laboratory is to work closely with your primary care physician in the effort to establish a satisfactory diagnosis. In most situations test results are available in one day and can be viewed by your physician on the Bronson website.
