Special Services

Notice of Program Accessibility
Bronson provides accessible services for people with disabilities. We offer designated easy-to-get-to parking spaces, curb cuts and ramps between parking areas and buildings. Elevators are conveniently located throughout the hospital. There is also access to offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, public waiting areas, cafeterias and patient care areas. Other services are listed below.

Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are at the drop-off location on each level of the parking ramps. They are also at each entrance. Ask your nurse or other hospital staff for help getting in and out of wheelchairs. If you cannot find a wheelchair, dial "0" from any house phone.

For Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing
Telephones with amplified phone sets, TTYs, website Text Relay, and closed caption TV are available for free. Communication posters and dry erase boards also help with communication. If you or your family need a sign language interpreter or any of these services, please ask your nurse.

Interpreters
Bronson offers interpretation services to our non-English-speaking patients and families for free. Up to 160 languages can be interpreted using an over-the-phone interpreter. On-site interpreters can be called for Spanish. Your nurse can help if you or your family member needs an interpreter.

Internet Access
Free wireless access to the Internet is available in most areas. Patients and visitors can check their e-mail, surf the Web, and stay connected while at Bronson. Computers and laptops are available. Ask your nurse. There are also Internet surf stations throughout the campus.

The Kalamazoo Gazette and other regional and national papers are available from coin-operated machines on the first floor of the South Campus (across from the cashier). The Kalamazoo Gazette is also available on the first floor of the North Campus near the vending machines.
