Research For Participants
Our physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals perform research in a variety of areas, including nursing practices, cardiovascular, trauma, orthopedic, neuroscience, women's and children's services. Bronson often partners with other organizations and pharmaceutical companies, including Jasper Clinic, Michigan State University / Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies (KCMS) and Western Michigan University. Research is Voluntary What it Means to Take Part in a Study Before a research study can start, it must be approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB is a committee made up of doctors, scientists, non-scientists and community members. The IRB's primary responsibility is to protect the safety and rights of the study participants. Deciding to be in a research study is an important decision and requires that you understand what will be expected of you. You should talk about these expectations with the study staff and your physician before you agree to be in a research study. Additional Resources
