Kenneth Taft has overall responsibility for all operations of the healthcare system.

Taft received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an accounting major from Western Michigan University in 1971 and a Master of Business Administration degree with a finance major from Western Michigan University in 1973. He has been employed by the Hospital since 1973, initially as a budget accountant. Taft has also served as director of budget and reimbursement, hospital controller, and assistant vice president/controller. He was senior vice president, finance and CFO from 1993 through 2004.

Taft is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has served as a board member and treasurer of Gateway Services of Kalamazoo. He currently serves on the boards of Michigan State University – Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies and Caymich Insurance Company, LTD. Taft also serves on the finance committees of Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan and the Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce.
