Physicians Give Bronson High Ratings

July 27, 2007

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC) recently awarded Bronson Methodist Hospital with several 5-Star designations based on high medical staff satisfaction with the hospital and its services. The designation is given to those healthcare organization’s in the United States that score in the top ten percent of PRC’s national medical staff perception database.

Bronson earned 5-Star designations for overall best place to practice medicine, overall quality of care, nursing, laboratory, radiology, surgical and anesthesia services. Four-Star designations were received for emergency services and pathology, which scored above the 75th percentile. These rankings not only recognize hospital staff’s commitment to excellence, but also allow Bronson to benchmark the satisfaction of its medical staff against other healthcare facilities across the nation.

The medical staff perception study is conducted annually to obtain the opinions of the physicians who practice at Bronson. Confidential interviews are conducted via telephone to assess each physician’s perceptions of overall satisfaction of hospital operations and patient care. The research findings are then aggregated and presented to the hospital to use in the continuous improvement and enhancement of programs and services to meet the needs of physicians as well as patients and families.

"We are thrilled to present Bronson with the National Excellence in Healthcare Awards," said Joe M. Inguanzo, Ph.D., president and CEO of Professional Research Consultants. "It was through their hard work, dedication and determination that they have made their facility a better place for the entire community. In the past 30 years, we've never seen hospitals more determined to exceed customers' expectations than the hospitals we recognized this year. It speaks to their passion that Bronson is among the best of the best."
