Bronson LakeView Hospital, located at 408 Hazen Street in Paw Paw, kicked off two significant construction projects on January 25, in the emergency department and cafeteria.
Expected to be completed in early summer, the expanded emergency department will feature five additional private treatment rooms. Once completed, there will be a total of 15 private treatment rooms in the emergency department. The emergency department will remain open and fully functioning throughout the expansion.
Sally Berglin, vice president of Bronson LakeView operations, said, "More and more people are choosing Bronson LakeView for care and Bronson is committed to making improvements to meet their needs. The hospital had nearly 18,000 patient visits in the emergency department last year. The additional treatment rooms will allow more people to be seen while further reducing wait time to see a doctor."
Expected to be completed by mid-February, the cafeteria at Bronson LakeView Hospital is also being redesigned. Visitors can expect an improved flow as well as updated flooring, ceiling, wallpaper, lighting and furniture. The technology will also be updated so the new cafeteria will be able to accept credit cards and debit cards. A temporary cafeteria will be set up during the renovation so food service will continue uninterrupted.
