Bronson Neurosurgery Welcomes New Nurse Practitioner

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Bronson Methodist Hospital welcomes Alice Mwanda, NP, to Bronson Neurology. She joins the Bronson Neurology team of Hisanori Hasegawa, M.D., Dennis Jewett, M.D., Dean Kindler, M.D., Kelly Ybema, M.D., Anita Buitenwerf, NP, Karen Freshwater, PA-C, and Lori Tatay, PA-C.

Mwanda received her master’s degree in nursing from Michigan State University.

Bronson Neurological Services collaborates to provide more specialists and treatment options for its patients – including southwest Michigan’s only board-certified vascular neurologist, epileptologist, and a pediatric fellowship-trained neurosurgeon; a pediatric neurology program; and a dedicated Neurovascular Unit for patients with neurovascular issues such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, aneurysms, seizure disorders, CNS tumors and related disorders.

Bronson’s neurosciences team works closely with colleagues in neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care, epileptology, medical spine care, oncology, neuroradiology, orthopedics, chiropractic, physical therapy, and rehabilitation to best meet each patient’s individual needs. A collaborative team approach is an important component of the Bronson neuroscience program due to the complex nature of neurological cases.
