Protecting yourself from the flu is easy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone six months of age and older get a flu vaccine.
Protection from Three Flu Viruses
The 2012-2013 flu vaccine is formulated to protect against:
- H3N2 virus
- Influenza B virus
- H1N1 virus
In the event of a vaccine shortage, we will first distribute vaccine to high-risk groups identified by the CDC, such as people with:
- Lung disease
- Asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Neurologic disease
- Pregnant women
