Bronson Battle Creek Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment
Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, a member of Bronson Healthcare system, conducted this Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to further its commitment to the community and to fulfill the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
2025 CHNA Results & Progress Report
For the purposes of this CHNA, the definition of community is all residents of Calhoun County, Michigan. This CHNA was completed and approved by Bronson Healthcare’s Board of Directors in November 2025. Both primary and secondary data were collected and analyzed to inform this CHNA and included a collaboration with local public health. The report highlighted community voice through methods including:
- Key informant interviews with representatives of the community with unique knowledge of health issues affecting the community
- Recent Community Reports and Assessments
- Community Survey
- Social Determinants of Health Data
The data were analyzed to identify the following top health needs of residents of Calhoun County in 2025:
- Children’s Health
- Chronic Conditions (Including Diabetes and Heart Disease)
- Mental Health and Mental Disorders
- Substance Use Disorders
- Wellness and Lifestyle
