The Bronson Health Foundation is pleased to welcome its newest members to the foundation Board of Directors: Ben Ipema, Von Washington Jr., and Joshua Weiner.
Ben Ipema is President of The Exhibit House, but has business interests also in Airpower America, Level Data and First National Bank of Michigan (as a Director). He is a community minded family and business person. Living in Kalamazoo since 1985, he and his wife Robin have raised four children while being active on the school board and involved various community organizations such as Young Life, Kalamazoo Deacons Conference, and their church. Having recently built and moved into a new home, Ben and his family are excited to continue being a part of this community.
Von Washington Jr. is the Executive Director of Community Relations for the Kalamazoo Promise. In a previous role, Von was principal of Kalamazoo Central High School and had the opportunity to host President Obama at Kalamazoo Central's 2010 commencement -- the first time a sitting president gave a high school commencement speech. He has long standing ties to community as a coach, educator, and community leader. Recently held the position of Vice President with Southwest Michigan first where he concentrated on business development in and around the Three Rivers community. Von resides in Kalamazoo with his wife Beth.
Josh Weiner is the Chief Executive Officer of the Meyer C. Weiner Company, a real estate and development firm, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a licensed real estate broker. Josh is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and past Chairman of Government Affairs, an Associate Member of the Kalamazoo Board of Realtors, past Board Member of the Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce, past Director of the National City Bank Southwest Regional Board, organizer and Director of First National Bank of Michigan, past member of the Board of Directors of the Congregation of Moses, member of the Board of Southwest Michigan Jewish Federation, United Jewish Appeal Campaign past Chairman, member of the President’s Council of United Jewish Communities, member of the Western Michigan University Foundation Real Estate Committee, and Board President Farmers Alley Theatre, Board member of Bronson Health Foundation, past Board of Governor's Kalamazoo Country Club, and committee member and/or contributor to many civic and charitable organizations, i.e., Kalamazoo Civic Players, United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Portage Public Schools, Kalamazoo Nature Center, Kalamazoo Junior Symphony, Junior Achievement and many others. Josh is the General Partner or Managing Member of over 55 developments of income-producing real estate.
Josh and his wife Pamela reside in Kalamazoo and have a summer home in South Haven, Michigan. Josh has been a resident of Kalamazoo since 1976. His sons, Adam and Rob, operate Farmers Alley Theatre and work on behalf of the Meyer C. Weiner Company with special projects and various property management matters.
