Little Help, Big Difference
Little Help, Big Difference allows you to help the foundation reach out to those in our workforce and patients in our care who need special assistance and have nowhere else to turn. It also gives an opportunity to support programs and services in the Bronson Healthcare system that are important to you and your family.
Little Help, Big Difference Funds:
- Employee Respite Rooms were established in each of our four hospitals to support your well-being during this challenging time and provide a restful and calming space to decompress.
- CISM Code Lavender support has been expanded during COVID. Code Lavender response supports employees who have suffered an emotional trauma and need a change to regroup, recover and find support and connection. Code Lavender allows the CISM team to quickly deploy resources to a department until a full debrief can occur. This includes nutritional support and comfort items.
- HelpNet Employee Assistance resources including mental health groups and flexible short term counseling sessions to address the intensity of mental health needs including increases in anxiety disorders, grief, depression, isolation, fear and support through many organizational changes.
Theresa moved back to Michigan last fall, and got a job at a Bronson lab. But, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, work slowed down and she was among those to be furloughed. Because Theresa had been living in another State recently, she hit a snag in getting unemployment. She decided to ask for help from the Employee in Crisis Fund as she started to get behind on her bills.
“I am so happy and blessed that Bronson has a program like this for their employees, it truly shows that they care about their employees. They are like family, so I urge anyone that wants to make a donation, or to an employee that needs help, don't be afraid to ask for help, don't be prideful because sometimes we all need some help from time to time and Bronson truly does care about their employees. So again I thank the Bronson Health Foundation (EIC) for what you have done for me, you have truly blessed me and I am forever grateful.”
Cindy Adams, an EVS associate, faced a crisis last winter when her furnace went out and could not be repaired. With her husband at home with stage 4 cancer, Cindy sought out support from the Employee in Crisis Fund to help buy a new furnace.
"It was hard to ask for help, but I knew with my husband being sick, I couldn't just tough it out. I felt overwhelmed that they gave it to me. I'm so thankful for what the Bronson Health Foundation could do for me as an employee. It's so reassuring to know they are there when you need it."

The Impact of Your Gift
Through the Volunteer Experience, Bronson employees help carry out our mission. You can see through the smiling faces in this video, that it comes from the heart. Together, we advance the health of our communities.
Research indicates employees are more engaged in their work when they are presented with employer-sponsored volunteer opportunities in their communities. At the same time, we know that health outcomes for our community are only partially impacted by the care we provide on our campuses. The Bronson Health Foundation, along with Bronson Community Health and Bronson Human resources invite you to take part in the Bronson Employee Volunteer Experience as part of the Little Help, Big Difference Campaign.
Please visit the Community Health Department Intranet Page for more information.

The healing power of kindness is present in every gift. It is our privilege to pass it on.
