Nicole was an angel in scrubs

Nicole Atkinson was my daughters nurse in the Bronson Methodist Hospital MICU back in April. My 21-year-old daughter, Katie, was critically ill with pneumonia and although every nurse that cared for her was wonderful, Nicole was an angel in scrubs. Where do I begin - she brought coffee from home for me and brought me a cup before I asked. She comforted me when I wasn’t sure things would be ok and she cared for my daughter with such kindness and compassion that I am in tears writing this. Katie’s lungs are still healing and there are very few good memories of being so sick but Nicole is one of those rare good memories. Katie is starting nursing school herself and when I ask her what kind of nurse she wants to be she answers “like Nicole.”
