Trina has stepped into her role as a Nursing Supervisor at Bronson Cancer Center with ease and exemplary leadership. Trina advocates for her staff, patients and families with compassion and care. Trina fosters exceptional communication with her staff and leads by example. Trina celebrates her team achievements in meaningful ways while remaining visible, accessible and responsive. Trina encourages innovative problem-solving and the open ideas and perspectives. Trina cultivates a culture of resiliency, compassion and excellence while supporting ongoing professional development. Trina supports advancing organizational strategies, goals and initiatives. All of this is evidenced by her lack of Nursing turnover because once they start working with Trina and the Infusion floor team, staff do not leave. I am lucky to call Trina my peer, and my friend. I value the teamwork we have implemented across the Cancer Center in Kalamazoo and Cancer Program as a whole at Bronson.

Trina is everything a nursing manager should be - kind, efficient, honest, and an incredible communicator. Trina always makes herself available to staff infusion nurses - coming to start hard IVs, assisting with chemotherapy reactions, and is generally present on the floor AT LEAST a few times a day to round and evaluate our needs. Trina has supported me in several ways in terms of continuing education, working with my schedule to allow me to travel for my MSN degree situated in a different state, and encouraged me to take my Oncology Certified Nurse exam within a year of being on staff at Bronson. She will come out to engage with patients, always with a smile and a can-do attitude. I feel safe, confident, and supported as a nurse at the cancer center with Trina at the helm. Our patients and staff alike are lucky to have a manager like her.
