As a token of our appreciation, we wanted to give back.Members of HairMania present check to Bronson Health Foundation

The Kalamazoo-based band HairMania hosted a guitar giveaway fundraiser at a series of shows over the summer in honor of bandmate Lloyd Wallace (pictured far right) who is undergoing cancer treatment at Bronson. Funds raised go to Bronson Health Foundation's Bronson Cancer Center - Kalamazoo Fund.

When Lloyd was diagnosed he was working as a welder in Indiana. He tried to keep working while attending doctor’s appointments and chemo treatments, but the toll it took on him was too much to be able to work effectively. When we spoke to Tacarra (Bronson Patient Financial Navigator) she informed us of the Bronson Cancer Fund and Lloyd just met the requirements to receive assistance. This took a huge weight off his shoulders knowing he wouldn't be so far in debt just to pay for treatment and did not have to put off treatment until approval of Medicaid.  Your Foundation allowed Lloyd to concentrate on treatment instead of cost and debt.

As a token of our appreciation we wanted to give back, which is why the guitar giveaway was the idea, since Lloyd has been playing guitar for over 40 years, toured across the country with multiple bands and has been in HairMania since its beginning 10 years ago.  The band and Lloyd have very loyal following and friends who were very generous in their support for his treatment and fundraising.
