Celebrating Bronson Battle Creek's Interventional Radiology Team

A large group of healthcare workers, many dressed in medical scrubs, stand together for a photo. Multiple team members are holding flowers, award certificates or baskets of gifts.

I would like to nominate the Interventional Radiology (IR) Team at Bronson Battle Creek for the DAISY Team Award for the extraordinary compassion and care they showed my brother, David.

David came in for a biliary drain tube change and replacement after already enduring a Whipple surgery. By the time he and my sister-in-law arrived, anxiety was high after everything he had been through. From the very beginning, the IR team put him at ease. They slowed the moment down, spoke with intention, and explained everything with calm reassurance. There was no rush—only genuine care. They recognized not just the procedure, but the person. They treated David with gentleness, dignity, and quiet confidence, turning what could have been overwhelming into something manageable. This is an experience my brother, my sister-in-law, and I will never forget—not just because of the care he received, but how they made him feel while receiving it. They didn’t just provide care, they created comfort.

A team like this reflects leadership that supports compassion and excellence, and that leadership should be incredibly proud. I am so proud to know and work at Bronson Battle Creek—knowing how much they care, not just how much they know. This team truly represents what healthcare should be.
