Wanji exemplifies the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient advocacy and professionalism, making a profound impact on both patients and colleagues. With five years employment at Bronson Battle Creek, Wanji has consistently demonstrated outstanding clinical skills and critical thinking.

Wanji's close attention to detail when doing patient assessments has been instrumental in improving patient outcomes and enhancing best practices within our healthcare team. One of the most remarkable examples of her expertise was when Wanji noticed a patient had a change of condition. What was most remarkable about this assessment was that the patient, at base line, was not interactive, not speaking and not following commands. The change of condition that Wanji noted was in the patient eyes, more specifically, her pupils. They did not look, nor did they react, in the same manner as they had in her first assessment. This is a detail that may have been missed by some but noticed by Wanji during her assessment. Upon further testing and investigating, it was determined that this patient most likely had a stroke and treatment was initiated. Her attention to detail allowed for the collaboration of disciplines to help diagnose and treat this patient for the best possible outcome. Furthermore, being able to explain to the family the change when it happened and the follow-up care that occurred helped the family to process and appreciate that their family member was receiving the best care possible.
