Bronson does a great job at training new leaders and giving them the tools needed for success.

My Career at Bronson

I have worked at Bronson Battle Creek for almost 9 years. I have advanced my career from Physical Therapist to Manager of Rehab at Bronson Battle Creek. I have been in my current role as rehab manager for 1.5 years.

A Day in the Life

I'm not sure there's such a thing as a typical day, but I usually begin by reviewing the caseloads for both Outpatient and Acute Care to determine if staffing adjustments are needed. This often involves coordinating with team members and other Bronson locations, including the Acute Care staff at Bronson Methodist.

We have several meetings through the day. I occasionally work with patients, providing care either in the hospital setting or by seeing individuals throughout the day at the outpatient center. I also like to work with my staff, being able to connect with them and see what I can do to help them do their best work.

There are also other operational things I have to do, like emails keep track of charting, finances, PTO requests and other things. I also work with other departments to help facilitate a high level of care for the patients.

What I Love About My Job

I like the variation in my day. I never have two days a like in this position.

The other thing that I like is that I get to treat patients and help the rehab team be the best they can be. I don’t treat patients as much, but now my job is to help the team that is responsible for patient care succeed and provide the best care for patients.

Why I’m Proud to Work at Bronson

I feel that the leadership of Bronson really tries to connect with the employees, engaging with them and working to help staff perform to the best of their abilities. This is not something that has been present in other locations that I have worked at in the past.

Bronson does a great job at training new leaders and giving them the tools needed for success. There really is a caring about people that is present not only on a department level, but also all the way up.

Benefits That Matter

Bronson has great benefits. The wellness dollars are nice to help focus on self-care and can be used with many different items.

As a newer leader in Bronson, I have found it of great benefit for all the leadership development offerings Bronson has in place to foster your continued learning and helping a person become a better leader.

What Bronson Positivity Means to Me

I've experienced Bronson Positivity as a place where I can thrive, as I know that Bronson wants to help foster great relationships with the employees that will allow them to excel.

We have a lot of leaders at Bronson that really are there for each other and their teams. Everyone is willing to support one another and help them to succeed.

Why You Should Join the Bronson Battle Creek Rehab Team

Bronson Battle Creek Rehab is a great place to work. We have been working to expand the employee engagement and celebrations. We have potlucks, MVP of the quarter and many other recognitions.

The clinic here has a lot of tools, great therapists to learn from that provide a well-rounded atmosphere of PT, OT and SLP.
We are also a multi-disciplinary clinic that offers the 3 areas of rehab and can collaborate well with other health care teams.

Being part of Bronson, the team has the ability to have shadow days with another provider to help them work on new ways to treat patients or help them learn new treatment strategies.

There is also a great willingness from the team to be there for each other and offer help when it is needed without any judgement being passed on.
