"This is my forever home."

Danielle Otis, PA-C, has joined Bronson Oncology & Hematology Specialists as the newest provider to diagnose and treat cancer in Battle Creek. As a physician assistant, Danielle is part of the cancer care team which includes oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, nurse navigators and other specialists.
Danielle has been a physician assistant at Bronson for eight years. Before joining the team at the Cancer Center, she worked at the Bronson Neuroscience Center in Kalamazoo and in the Bronson Battle Creek Emergency Department. Danielle received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit. While in school, Danielle chose an elective in radiation oncology and studied under Dr. Randy Mudge, radiation oncologist and physician-in-chief for Bronson’s system cancer program.
Danielle chose to transfer to Bronson Oncology & Hematology Specialists because of her connection to the cancer program and to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Donna Shouldice, Danielle’s mother, was a nurse for 40 years before semi-retiring in 2023 from Bronson Battle Creek’s radiation oncology department. Danielle largely credits her success to her mom who has always supported her choice to work in healthcare.
“People often say to me, you look very familiar. I typically follow up with, do you know Donna Shouldice?” said Danielle. “I’m excited to work at the Cancer Center and walk down the same hallways as my mom! Helping patients means so much to both of us.”
Danielle Otis was born and raised in Battle Creek and calls southwest Michigan her forever home. She is eager to give back to the community and get to know her patients in the area.
