Brittany Sullivan, BSN, RN, is the recipient of the 2025 DAISY Nurse Leader Award

Every so often, we have the privilege of meeting individuals who stand out as "natural leaders," and without a doubt Brittany is one of them. She is deeply passionate about her departments and her team members, consistently demonstrating servant leadership at every opportunity. Brittany is always looking for ways to uplift and connect with her team - whether it's hosting a Super Bowl party, recognizing individuals with their favorite treats, or organizing a Boo Basket exchange. She's always ready to make her team feel valued and supported.

Last summer, the BBC interventional radiology team faced a significant challenge with a ruptured pipe that devastated the suite. Brittany remained calm and proactive. While most would have been overwhelmed, she handled the situation with remarkable composure, finding ways to work around the damage to keep the teams running and minimize the impact on our patients. Brittany coordinated the IR team's move to OR #1 and facilitated the pulmonary team's relocation to the Endo Suite #2. Throughout it all, she ensured clear, consistent communication and managed multiple challenges effortlessly.

Brittany's vibrant personality shines through in everything she does - whether she's engaged with her team, assisting patients at the bedside, or troubleshooting equipment issues. Her dedication, grace under pressure and unwavering commitment to her team makes her the perfect candidate for the Nurse Leader Award. She truly embodies the qualities of an outstanding leader and is an invaluable asset to our organization.
