Dr. Randy Mudge Honored With the Dale G. Griffin Healthcare Leadership Award

Dale G. Griffin Healthcare Leadership Award was created to honor the many contributions and longtime healthcare trustee and community volunteer Dale Griffin who passed away in 2001. The award is given to recognize exemplary contributions that improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare in the Battle Creek community.
A committee of healthcare leaders has selected Dr. Randy Mudge as the 2024 Dale G. Griffin Healthcare Leadership Award recipient.
As an active member of the community, practicing Radiation Oncologist and physician in chief of Bronson’s system-wide cancer program, Dr. Mudge knows the specific needs of the local cancer population and assures they receive dedicated outreach efforts in conjunction with evidence-based, comprehensive cancer care. He has fostered a strong relationship with the American Cancer Society, which lead to the development of the annual Spring Fling. This event raises money to help remove barriers to care and impacts the health and healing of patients and their families. Dr. Mudge was a strong advocate to expand this effort across the southwest Michigan region. In 2023, funds raised from active philanthropy supported 198 patients with over $57,000 assisting in transportation and medication costs.
Dedicated to improving the quality of cancer care within our community, he has been a key driver in transforming cancer care across the region. Under his leadership, Bronson earned national accreditation as the first Integrated Network Cancer Program in southwest Michigan from the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer in 2022. This milestone highlights his approach to cancer care, focused on the patient with the goals of prevention, education, timeliness, quality care and support from time of diagnosis to follow up upon treatment completion.
Congratulations, Dr. Mudge, and thank you for all your contributions to the community!
