Everyone was Attentive, Patient, Engaging and Compassionate
My dad was admitted from the emergency department (ED) after a 911 response for respiratory failure. From the emergency response team to every single person we encountered during his 11-day stay on the 4th floor - everyone who touched his experience was attentive, patient, engaging and compassionate - I could go on! I've worked in health care for 25 yrs, 22 of them at the bedside in acute care, I know what the worst days are like, especially in a crazy ED! I thought I would need to protect my dad and advocate for excellent care. Everyone we encountered allowed me to just be his daughter and to support, love and be there for him. What a priceless gift that was in our time of crisis. Please tell the respiratory care team, the physical therapy team, the housekeeping and food service team, all the nurses and their assistants, and the inpatient physician team about this message. My hope is this comes back to them 10-fold in their lives, when they need it the most. Thank you from the depths of our souls!
