Exceptional listening and advocacy from nurse Lindsey!

Lindsey did a great job connecting with our son during his stay in the children's hospital. She tried to explain all the things she was doing like drawing blood, taking blood pressure etc. She asked him about school, brought him toys and things to color. She asked how he was feeling and great at going over his car with us.

After he had a setback with antibiotics, she advocated with us to not repeat treatment with a new doctor later in the day and we advised not to do anything else because my husband and I wanted our child to be allowed to sleep for a few hours uninterrupted. Then once he woke up, he was given Zofran first, then shortly after some pain medicine, then food. After about an hour he was then given his antibiotic. He started feeling so much better he even ate 2 baked potatoes within a few hours, happy smiling and ready to go home.

Lindsey, you truly made our scary experience (pneumonia) better by the effort you took to listen to our concerns and ensure our son was being well taken care of. I will always highly recommend your department for the care we were given while spending the weekend there.
