Forever grateful for Rebekah!

Nurse Rebekah Kubicek put so much kindness and care she toward our new little family! I recently gave birth at Bronson, and we saw a lot of staff members during our short stay, but Rebekah stood out the most. There wasn't a single thing that we could ask for that she hadn't already gotten or done for us.

Personally, I was very nervous for discharge, the ride home, and how well our son would do in his car seat. Her passion for car seat education and safety was unmatched. You can tell that she loves what she does and in return, that love is shown through her to her patients. By ensuring us we were doing a good job while also teaching us the proper way to do things, she relieved so much stress and anxiety we had about leaving.

On top of everything, Rebekah had a very important conversation with my husband and I about what might happen post-partum involving the "baby blues" and extreme hormone shift that could happen causing my mental health to decline after we get home. She made sure that I had the resources I needed in case I needed to reach out for help. She also reassured me that whatever I might end up feeling, that the bad and scary can be normal and made it apparent that I needed to remember to take care of myself. After a few days at home, the shift happened, and I found myself struggling with depression pretty bad. Although the feeling eventually passed, I constantly reminded myself of the conversation she had with us about feeling that way. Her conversation with us helped me to not feel guilt or shame once we were home and I was struggling with something completely normal to childbirth, yet something not a whole lot of people still talk about. The conversation also helped my husband when it came to him needing to step up and help take care of not only the baby, but myself.

I really don't believe that we would've been as prepared for things at home had Rebekah not been our nurse and for that, we are forever extremely grateful!
