Grateful for this pediatric care team!
Thank you to Lindsey and Dr. Leinwand at Bronson Children's Hospital! Lindsey was top notch from the second we stepped onto the pediatric unit. She met our son with a smile and she made sure he was comfortable from the start. Things went fast as he was scheduled for surgery 4 hours after we got there, and it changed to 15 min after we got there. Lindsey never acted overwhelmed (all while having other staff come to her about another patient who also needed help). Lindsey took the time to explain things to Brighton in a way he would understand. Lindsey took the time to go over his incentive spirometer and how to correctly use it when he got back, what to expect when he left the unit and when he would return post operatively. Brighton felt comfortable with her, he was comfortable talking to her and telling how he felt, or when he needed something.
Dr. Leinwand was hands down the icing on the cake for this visit. He sat on Brighton's bed and did a FULL exam on him, he answered all our questions, asked Brighton how he felt, what questions he had, and continued to educate the students he had with him all while making Brighton his priority. We are thankful that he took the time to fully evaluate our son, that he didn’t just rush in and say we’re going to surgery and leave. He wanted to get the full picture before he decided to operate.
Finding good, compassionate nurses and doctors that don’t feel overwhelmed is hard these days. We are so thankful that we were able to have this team for our stay and Brighton's first hospital experience.
