It’s wonderful to have great care close to home!

In 2008, I was diagnosed with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of blood vessels and damage to nerves. I noticed I was having sensory problems in 2006. In fact, one day I burned my hand and didn’t even notice it. A local neurologist referred me to a neuromuscular specialist at the University of Michigan, and it took two years for a team of healthcare clinicians to diagnose me.

I began receiving treatment for my AAV in 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek Infusion Center. They help manage my symptoms and pain, as well as address any issues that arise. I go in every three weeks for a five-hour appointment. I call it my spa day because it’s a day I don’t have to worry about my phone ringing, letting the dog out or house chores. My job on spa day is to sit back, relax and let the medicine do its job.

I’ve grown really close with the staff at Bronson Battle Creek Infusion Center. They have the highest attention to detail and professionalism you’ll find just about anywhere. All of their patients are shown nothing but kindness, patience and care. I often bring in treats on my spa days to lift the spirits of the staff like they lift mine. They have helped me become confident and comfortable in my own skin as I’ve had to relearn how to keep doing the things I love like cooking, serving at my church and walking my border collie.
