He is TRULY AMAZING

Photo of the Sam, a Bronson nurse, smiling as he receives the Excellence in Nursing Award.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Sam over the years in various roles from PCA, to nurse extern and now RN. Although Sam is very strong clinically and is involved in Shared Leadership and Unit Initiatives what is most impressive about him is who Sam is as a person.

Sam regularly takes time to recognize his peers- celebrating birthdays, daisy awards, baby showers, etc. This is often done on his day off and utilizing his personal funds. Sam has also ensured special recognition for patients that have been admitted for extended lengths of time- from providing clothes to patients in need to getting a special treat to brighten someone's day.

Sam has stepped up as head organizer on multiple occasions when staff are facing a life challenge. He figures out how to support his peers by organizing unit collections, offering supportive texts, and providing kind and supportive words and encouragement

Sam is consistently celebrating others even though he does so much good himself. I don't believe Sam knows how truly AMAZING he is. I am hoping that this award will allow him to be recognized for being the outstanding person he is and for the true positive impact he has amongst the unit.
