Just an amazing crew on the Neuro Critical Care and Cardiology Unit
My 90-year-old mom was brought in unresponsive with stroke like symptoms. After ER determination she was placed in the NEURO critical care. Jody was the nurse on duty at that time. She was so caring and helpful. Not only did she show great care for my Mom, she was able to comfort my daughter (Mom’s granddaughter) who brought her in. Mom was in the unit for 4 nights and each staff member was amazing, all showing the same amazing care to both her and us, the family. Additional shout outs to Kelsey, Andy, and others whose names escape me at the moment. They all kept us informed, updated and cared for. Always asking if we needed anything also. When additional family members were to arrive from out of town, they even made sure to give her a bath and wash her hair. Just an amazing crew! We are forever indebted to them!
My mother was moved from the Nuro critical care to cardiology late night. There are actually three outstanding nurses that I would like to commend. The nurse on duty at the time of her transfer was Jay. He showed great care for my mom, and was considerate and caring for me as well. Made sure she was comfortable in her new environment and spoken a kind and gentle manner. Since I was planning to spend the night, he made sure that I was comfortable as well. A day or two later, I saw him coming back on duty as I was headed out for a period of time. He made a point to stop me and asked me how my mom was doing. So considerate.
In addition, I would like to specifically recognize Brendan and Latasha. One night was particularly stressful and they were amazing. I had to call them into her room many times for various reasons and they never appeared annoyed or frustrated. I was exhausted from spending several nights in the hospital and they showed great care for my emotional needs. They explained that some of moms actions and reactions were very normal given what she had been through. They comforted me immensely, while giving mom great comfort and care also.
