Kaitlyn exceeded our expectations
While in the clinical decision unit at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, my grandfather was having issues breathing throughout the night. His nurse, Kaitlyn, spent a great deal of time with us, helping to do everything in her power to make him better. When she felt she could not provide enough for him, she called a consultation with an ICU nurse to try to find the best way to get him better. In the end, I was very impressed and grateful that she seemed to go above and beyond her job to help. She seemed to actually care about the issues we were having. She was also very supportive of me, and I greatly appreciated that ... supporting me while I supported my grandfather, while also admitting that she needed to escalate and call in a nurse from the ICU. I feel it must be difficult to admit that she may not know the best way to help him, and being humble enough to put ego aside and call in reinforcement from the ICU and on-call doctor.
When my grandfather was transferred to the critical care unit in the morning, I was glad he would have the care he needed but also sad that we would have different nurses as I felt the team in the clinical decision unit were genuinely caring people that go above and beyond expectations to provide the best level of care possible. They should make Bronson!
