Leading with Kindness, Haele Truly Makes a Difference

A woman stands, smiling for a photo. In her arms are two bouquet of flowers, a certificate and a envelope that reads "Haele" with a sunshine on it.

Haele, an MA at Bronson Internal Medicine & Pediatrics - Lifetime Wellness, is the best medical assistant I've had the privilege of working with. Yes, she works hard. Yes, she talks compassionately with our patients. Yes, she is always looking for ways to help her colleagues. These are all great traits, but what makes her extraordinary is how she so naturally does kindnesses that are beyond anything I could ask her to do.

I remember an elderly woman who came into the office with her caretaker and had very obviously had trouble not only taking care of her own hygiene but letting anyone at her care facility help her. But while I spoke to her caretaker, Haele had this woman in the bathroom, cleaning her up and helping her to put on cleaner clothes so that when they returned to the room this patient looked brighter and so much more comfortable than when she came in.

There was also the time one of our toddler patients with behavior issues that wasn't feeling well was loudly crying through much of the visit and having a bit of a tantrum. When I asked Haele to bring me something, she not only brought me what I needed but also stayed in the room and sat with this boy, playing with him and talking to him until he was smiling.

There are even smaller things she does to show she genuinely cares, like bringing each patient fresh water. There are so many other instances why I think she deserves recognition as an extraordinary medical assistant and person. She has a brilliant future ahead!
