Lindsay is an unsung hero

I thought you would like to know about Lindsay Kratz, a nurse on the medical oncology side. I was called about a patient who was in the ER last evening. They didn’t ask me to see the patient but I came in anyway because I knew the patient was scared and young.

When I got to the ER, Lindsay Kratz was sitting in the lobby. I asked her what she was doing, turns out she had been sitting there since after work with a patient who had no family or friends. She had been there since she clocked out and it was after 7:30 p.m. It was not her family member or friend, it was her patient. When I finished seeing my patient at 8 p.m., she was still waiting there with this patient with a smile. She is an unsung hero.
