Megan may be new to nursing, but her impact already is remarkable

Megan Wright, BSN, RN, is the recipient of the 2025 Rising Star Award

Megan Wright, a nurse at Bronson Battle Creek, smiles for the camera while receiving her Rising Star Award during Nurses' Week. From my very first encounter with Megan, I knew she was destined to be an outstanding nurse at Bronson Battle Creek. Megan is self-motivated, eager to learn, and committed to delivering the highest quality patient care.

I first met Megan when she was selected as my nursing leadership student during her final course at Western Michigan University. No matter how complex the tasks I presented to her, Megan embraced every challenge with confidence and determination. Though her experience was primarily inpatient-based, she quickly adapted and took the initiative to assist with a project in Surgical Services, helping to refine the pre-incision time-out process. She actively participated in leadership meetings, offering insightful feedback and innovative ideas to enhance patient care.

Since graduating, Megan has become an invaluable member of our nursing care team. I frequently hear praise from my own nurses about her exceptional patient hand-off reports. Additionally, during my leader rounds, I consistently receive positive feedback from her patients, who speak highly of her compassionate nature and genuine concern for their well-being.

Megan may be new to the profession, but the impact she has already made on our patients, colleagues, and hospital is remarkable. She embodies the qualities of an exceptional nurse-dedication, empathy, and a relentless drive for excellence.
