My Career Path

I joined Bronson in 2003 to lead the creation and execution of Diversity & Inclusion strategies throughout the system. For a decade, I was fortunate to have been given the opportunity to grow professionally by having several mentors throughout the organization while also achieving my educational goals. In 2014, I left Bronson for life-work balance. What led me to return to Bronson is our commitment to excellence, community and positivity not only for our patients and their families, but for Bronson employees.

A Day in the Life

As the Oncology Community Health Worker for the Bronson Cancer Center in Kalamazoo, on any typical day, I engage with diverse communities by connecting them with early detection cancer screenings, resource education and cancer awareness information. In this role, I coordinate events and sessions that are held in partnership with faith and community-based organizations to reduce health inequities and disparate outcomes in cancer treatment and survivorship.

What I Enjoy Most About My Job

What I enjoy the most about my role as an Oncology Community Health Worker is connecting individuals, especially from traditionally underrepresented communities, with a team of dedicated individuals who offer more than cancer treatment and care for our patients and families; they offer hope in a healing environment that is inviting and aesthetically beautiful.
