Nurse Liam will always be special to our family

I arrived at Bronson Children's Hospital with my son via ambulance from a rural hospital. Liam was our nurse upon arrival at 10 p.m. He quickly helped us feel comfortable and confident in the level of care our son would receive. He bonded with our son over a St. Michael statue we brought from home.

Our son underwent surgery the next day. Liam was our nurse that night as well. Before he went to sleep, Liam gave my son a personal rosary, along with the story of how it was made. This rosary, along with Liam's care, comforted our son and us through the night.

4 days later, he was discharged to return home. My son doesn’t remember much through the pain of those early days in the hospital, but he does remember Liam. He will always be special to our family.
