Stacy made my whole experience so much better.

I had an Epidural Spinal Injection last week. Everyone was kind and professional. My procedure did not go as expected and I ended up having a Spinal headache and needed to return for a second procedure, a blood patch. On my way to the hospital, I asked my husband if they would allow him to go into the procedure to just hold my hand. We both knew that wasn’t possible. When I was taken back for the procedure, it was Nurse Stacy that took me and stayed with me throughout. She was kind and even let Sara and Brooklyn in the procedure room know she appreciated their teamwork. When Dr. Patel started to numb my back I felt someone take my hand and just gently hold it. I cried, not from pain but because of the compassion she showed me. It touched my heart that someone would just do that. When it came time for my blood to be drawn, it was Nurse Stacy, after she was done with the draw and had handed off my blood, I felt her hold my other hand until it was over. I asked who it was that had held my hand, Stacy said it was her. I thanked her and let her know how much I appreciated her kindness. As she was taking me back to my room where my husband was waiting, I asked if I could pull the blanket over my head because the hallway lights were hurting my headache. But then said “no, I wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m dead,” Stacy said “It’s ok, I could fake cry really hard.” We both laughed all the way back to the room. Stacy made my whole experience so much better, she went above and beyond to help calm my nerves. THANK YOU, Nurse Stacy! Also thank you to the Monday morning and Friday afternoon staff in the Outpatient Testing/Interventional Radiology area at Bronson Kalamazoo.
