A phenomenal person and caregiver

I would like to nominate Brianna, our outstanding PCA, for a Sunshine award. During my daughter’s hospitalization, she truly went above and beyond.

As parents, we are often so worried about our sick babies that we tend to neglect ourselves. I was not expecting my daughter to be admitted to the hospital, so I had nothing with me. Brianna went out of her way to find me a charger for my phone and made sure I knew that if I needed extra clothes, scrubs were available so I could change. She also made sure I knew there were items like food, drink, washer, etc. available to me in the family room. She encouraged me to eat, and then before her shift ended, made sure that I in fact ate. I have a couple kids with illnesses which put us in medical care often. I have never had a nurse/PCA make sure the parents are eating too, and thought it was very generous to remind me that I needed to.

Brianna is a phenomenal person. She is kind and caring. You can tell she loves her job and loves helping people. You can tell that she is here not just for the money, but to make things better, and I truly appreciate that.
