I Felt Supported by the Surgical Services Team

I am a nurse practitioner with Bronson Gastroenterology Specialists. I am accustomed to providing care to my patients, but recently found myself on the opposite side of health care when I required orthopedic surgery after an injury. From even before I set foot at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital on the day of surgery, I felt supported by the surgical services team. I reached out to a friend and colleague, Robin Olexa, CRNA, about my fears and she went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable. She came to see me before surgery and made me feel very reassured. My entire anesthesia team, Dr. Alan Angel, Russell Eberhard, CRNA and Karl Kettlehut did an amazing job with my block and controlling my pain. My surgery team, Dr. Barry Collins and Conor McCabe, PA-C were fantastic and professional throughout the process. The Bronson Battle Creek pre-post and OR staff were great as well - Francie C, Bryant W., Brandy P., Erin, Akasha H., Jeff W. and Sarah W. all worked to make the experience as comfortable as possible. If I forgot anyone else I apologize. I would recommend Bronson Battle Creek to anyone in need of surgery!
