It is rewarding help my patients reach their goals both on the field and in life

Holly works with a student athlete on the sidelines of a football game at Loy Norrix high school.I’ve been a member of the Bronson Athletic Training Network since 2022 at Loy Norrix High School. I love working with my student-athletes/patients daily and being part of the Kalamazoo community. As a full-time athletic trainer at my school, I’m able to get to know my patients before they are injured which allows me to provide better care when they become injured or are in distress. I enjoy educating my patients about their injuries, providing preventative or post-injury resources, and helping them navigate the healthcare system.

Bronson Positivity is really showcased in how Bronson takes care of its staff but providing resources, wellness benefits, and implementing changes based on employee feedback. I put my Bronson Positivity into action at work by allowing a positive and safe space for all of my student-athletes to be themselves. I especially love being apart of the Bronson Children’s 5k as medical staff and as a cheerer as the participants highlight what a difference our providers make in the lives in the community.

Being part of a large team of athletic trainers allows me to work a variety of events and take time off when I need it. My team manager leads by example and is always willing to jump in and help when we need it. He is always available to listen to our concerns and is constantly trying to provide us additional resources within Bronson and the community. Our team does a great job at celebrating each other and helping with responsibilities when life takes us away from work. We also have a great team of doctors, physician assistants, and medical assistants who support the work we do and adjust their busy schedules to see our patients quickly. Bronson provides the technology to support secure communication between providers and recognizes athletic trainers as a critical part of the local healthcare system.
