Thanks to the ICU and Hospital Staff, My Wife is Alive
My wife is alive and recovering at home thanks to the Bronson intensive care unit and hospital staff.
My wife complained to me of pain in her stomach and along the right-side of her lower back. When it did not go away, we went to the Bronson Methodist Hospital Emergency Department and Level I Trauma Center. She continued to be in extreme pain. She eventually was diagnosed with a large kidney stone. Surgery was scheduled the following morning to blast the stone.
The next morning she was prepped for surgery. Less than an hour later the doctor found me in the waiting area and explained that there were some complications that arose during the surgery. All of her vital signs dropped rapidly. Her heart beat was well over 100 bpm, temperature was above 102 degrees Fahrenheit, blood pressure was 76/51, oxygen levels were lower than normal and the kidney stone was infected. She was admitted into the intensive care unit and remained in there for two and a half days.
My wife and I are so thankful to the ICU team of doctors and care staff that came up with her recovery plan. With the medications administered, she was able to fight off the infection. Thank you, again.
