This way... we can better manage their care.

To improve access for patients in rural areas, the South Haven Rotary made a generous donation to Bronson Health Foundation to provide patients with medical supplies they could use at home, as well as pre-paid phones for patients in need to telehealth services.

“We are a rural community center, so we have patients that drive more than five miles to get to our office. It’s hugely helpful to have supplies like blood pressure cuffs, scales, thermometers and pulse oximeters on hand at our practices so we can just physically hand them to the patients. For example, it’s really hard to get blood pressures from patients who don’t always have the ability to come in every day to check their blood pressure and they don’t have the resources at home and/or their insurance doesn’t pay for durable medical supplies. This way, they have the supplies at home so they can give us better information, we can triage and hopefully avoid sending people to the ER and we can better manage their care.”
