She Makes Everyone Around Her Feel Valued, Respected and Heard

Three nurses stand in front of a sign reading, "Thank you nurses," each holding a bouquet of flowers.

An Acute Care Assistant on the Neurovascular unit at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, Adaline supports the team by consistently going above and beyond when caring for patients and their family members. She is supportive of her coworkers by always being accountable for her duties as an ACA and completing them without hesitation. She approaches each situation with kindness, patience, and genuine empathy, making those around her feel valued, respected, and heard. When I work side by side with Adaline, I will often hear her ask her teammates, “are you doing ok?” and will stop what she is doing to assist them anyway she can. Her teamwork and positive attitude contribute greatly to the morale of the entire unit. Her genuine smile and enthusiastic attitude are deeply appreciated.

Adaline is a problem solver. If an idea or feedback on changes or process improvements is needed, ask Adaline. She is honest and has innovative suggestions which help with the efficiency of the unit. She gave great input during a Kaizen event regarding the development of a standardized whiteboard to be used on the med/surg floors. During staff meetings, Adaline is never fearful of offering constructive criticism to the leaders which help the growth of the unit. She is also a key preceptor to new staff and always makes them feel warm and welcome.
