Tami Idzkowski, BSN, RN, is the recipient of the 2025 DAISY Nurse Supervisor Award

Tami is an exceptional leader and certainly deserves to be recognized for this. She possesses all of the qualities of a great leader: compassion, understanding, empathy, empowerment, flexibility, passion, respect, transparency and patience.

She is caring and listens to her staff’s needs. She understands that we are all human and never shames or scolds us for a mistake. Instead, if an issue is presented, she uses appropriate and professional problem-solving skills to correct the problem.

Tami not only advocates for her staff and patients, but she goes out of her way to help ease the workloads of her staff, especially when understaffing is an issue on a particular day. Not only does this improve attitudes of staff by removing a burden from their shoulders, but it also promotes swift patient care. Bronson Neuroscience Center is a place where the staff feels happy to work there. Tami has helped create a comfortable workplace and a safe, happy work environment. Tami has an open-door policy and is there to be a person to vent to, support you, or just share a conversation with. The employment retention rate at our office is pretty high, and a great deal of this comes from our amazing leadership team. Tami is the best supervisor I have worked under in my entire nursing career.
