Tammy Serves Her Patients with Unbiased, Quality Care & Unending Positivity

A patient was recently evaluated in the emergency room after seven days postpartum and four days following discharge. Her concerns were typical of a common pregnancy complication. She also described some stressors at home which may have contributed to her symptoms. While in the emergency department, she received a thorough evaluation and once clear, was promptly transferred to labor and delivery for further evaluation.

Tamara "Tammy" Morse was the admitting and charge nurse. Tammy exercised sound clinical judgment and demonstrated an excellent understanding of this patient’s needs. Prior to my evaluation, Tammy communicated that the patient was tired and hungry. She advocated for a meal and had “tucked in” the patient, which means she put her in a quiet room instead of the busy triage bay. The patient was wrapped in warm blankets and had fresh ice water at bedside. She was treated with dignity and compassion. Immediately the patient's symptoms began to improve.

The first time I went to evaluate the patient she was taking a much needed nap. After she woke, we reviewed her blood work, symptoms and the physical effects that a newborn/pregnancy can have on your body. By now my efforts were futile, she was better. Tammy had already given this patient the care she needed. This type of quality nursing and compassionate care is the norm from Tammy. She serves her patients with unbiased, quality care and unending positivity. Beyond her patients Tammy is constantly advocating for her colleagues and puts their interests above her own. I hope she is recognized for her tireless efforts and unending Bronson positivity.
