Thank you, Bronson Methodist Hospital!

Bronson President & CEO Bill Manns smiles for the camera with two team members from the Birth Kalamazoo organization. At Birth Kalamazoo, we support new parents in Kalamazoo. We help families have great births and nurture them through the early months of parenting.

We have a fun and potentially life-saving addition to our newborn care class: infant CPR training for parents! The Infant CPR Kits used in class were a gift from the American Heart Association, which was made possible by Bronson Healthcare’s support of the AHA’s Go Red for Women movement. With these CPR Kits, parents can practice in class with an official infant model and then take the kit home with them to watch the CPR training video and practice again on the doll with other people who care for their baby (think grandparents, aunts and uncles, sitters, etc.). So amazing! Seriously, the inflatable dolls even click to help parents know they’ve placed their fingers in the right spot and that they’re pressing just hard enough. Our pilot class loved the kits and the additional education.

Bill Manns, president and CEO of Bronson Healthcare, stopped by the Birth Kalamazoo office recently to talk with our postpartum doulas, Tiffany Bernstein and Ashley Whitt. They were excited to share how we’re using the kits in class and in families’ home.

Thank you so much, Bronson Methodist Hospital and American Heart Association - Michigan!
