They Went on to Learn to Eat and Grow
Austin, Alex and Brian Grieve were born in March of 1990 at 31 weeks gestation. Austin weighed 3 pounds, 9 ounces; Alex weighed 3 pounds, 6.5 ounces and Brian weighed 2 pounds, 11 ounces. Austin and Brian had jaundice and Brian had some minor digestive issues. Otherwise all three were quite healthy, though due to their prematurity they couldn’t suck well enough to eat at first. They spent about a week in the NICU and then went to the step down nursery to learn to eat and grow. Alex spent a total of 21 days at Bronson, Austin spent 22 and Brian spent 35.
Austin, Alex and Brian are now 30 years old, healthy and have no lasting ill effects of their prematurity.
