Bronson Honors Veterans Day Celebrating Sgt. Efrain H. Robles, Jr.

Bronson Veteran's Day coin design - red, white, and blue shield with a gold outline with text that states: Bronson Veterans Celebrating a Tradition of Service.

Since 2015, Bronson has celebrated Veterans Day by recognizing employees who have served in the armed forces to thank them for their service to our country by presenting them with a challenge coin. Members of the armed forces have a long history of carrying challenge coins to symbolize the camaraderie of being part of a select group. It has been said that only those who have served and received a coin for an accomplishment can truly appreciate its meaning. The title of this year's coin is "The Community Within".

Retired Sgt. Efrain H. Robles designs the coin given to Bronson employees each year. “The core values learned within the military serve as the foundation for a lifetime of service,” said Sgt. Robles. “Veterans never forget that sacrifice and duty, are often, one and the same. They exercise their innate desire to serve their community every day. Their silent, professional integration personifies their two-fold commitment to service to their country and community.”

About the 2024 Veterans Challenge Coin

The phrase, "the community within,” represents the veterans who are a community within a community, bringing the core values learned within the military and engrained sense of duty to every task, routine and urgency they encounter. Bronson is fortunate to celebrate the veterans who have chosen to serve where they live. To our veterans and active duty military personnel, we thank you for your service!

The gold color of the edge of the coin commemorates the invaluable sacrifice of our veterans. The field of blue represents the honor of military service. The red and white fields within the body of the coin represent the sacrifice and triumph of the American spirit. The gold eagle emblem represents the enduring might of the United States. The doubling of the apex of the coin, as well as the doubling at the base of the coin, represent the two communities within which veterans serve. The five gold stars represent the fullness of liberty celebrated within our country. The phrase “Bronson Veterans” names the community being honored. This community lives and serves within the broader Bronson community. The phrase, “Celebrating A Tradition Of Service To The Community” exemplifies the commemoration of our veterans. The branches of the Armed Forces of the United States surround the edge of the coin, along with the phrase “POW-MIA.” The phrase “Veterans Day 2024” commemorates this year’s Veterans Day celebration.
