We're Proud to Bring Smiles to Kids at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital

Heading into this holiday season, my children and I hosted a community book drive — Books Bring Comfort — to provide books to children who will be spending time at Bronson during the holidays. It was so special to see our Battle Creek community come together in a beautiful way to support our local hospital.
At the end of the book drive, my children and I had the honor of delivering all 127 books to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. Each book was carefully selected to offer encouragement, imagination and moments of joy during hospital stays, especially during a time of year when families need comfort the most.
It was incredibly meaningful to involve my kids in giving back to the community we call home. This project has been a powerful reminder of the impact small acts of kindness can have when people come together.
I would also like to extend a special thank-you to Carmen Feeny (Child Life Specialist at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital) and Kristin Visel (Emergency Department Director at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital) for their support, communication and guidance throughout this process. Their dedication to patient care made coordinating this donation smooth and truly enjoyable.
Thank you to the Bronson team for welcoming our donation and for all you do to support local families. We are truly grateful for this partnership and hope to continue working together in the future.
Warmly,
Ashlee Smolinski
