Shared Leadership & Nurse Recognition

At Bronson, we want our nurses to feel empowered to become involved in decision making and initiate change. One way we do this is through our shared governance structure. Each unit and department has a council, which allows nurses to be involved in decision-making in the area they work. Representatives from each council come together to create an organizational shared leadership council. The goals of the nursing shared leadership council are to:

Provide effective communication and collaboration between nursing staff, ancillary staff and leadership.
  • Design, oversee and evaluate changes and/or improvements within nursing and overall patient care.
  • Sustain a high level of performance and growth.
  • Own and improve patient safety and quality.
  • Promote evidenced-based nursing care.
  • Support professional development, recognition and celebration.
